Casterton is a civil parish, encompassing Casterton and High Casterton, situated in the beautiful Lune Valley. It extends in the west as far as the river Lune, and in the north East to the summit of Cragg Hill (682m), and includes the most extensive cave network in the UK.
Our landscape, wildlife and cultural heritage enjoy the greater protection afforded from inclusion within the Yorkshire Dales National Park in 2016.
All properties in the village have access to a broadband service - a symmetrical 1GB connection - that is amongst the fastest in the whole of the UK .
The resident population of around 250 are served by a church, garage/shop, golf club, pub/restaurant and a village hall, and the facilities of the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale are 2 miles distant.
